Blackpool is situated on the North West coast in Lancashire, overlooking the Irish sea and with a wealth of accommodations options. The Town has one of the most densely populated choices of Bed and Breakfast, Guest houses and hotels anywhere in the country providing accommodation for the many attractions Blackpool offers. The Famous Blackpool Tower 158 m (518 ft) dominates the skyline and over recent years, the "Big One", a very high rollercoaster at the pleasure beach matches the tower in scale but not in height at 65 m (213 ft). The equally famous Blackpool trams run along the promenade for several miles, a service originally started in 1885 and continues to run to this day, now one of the oldest electric tramways in the World. The Blackpool illuminations, another very big draw to the town, runs from Early Sept to Early Nov and each year a different theme lights up the Promenade
