Ambleside, situated at the head of Lake Windermere, England's largest natural lake in the Lake District Now within the county of Cumbria, and once in the historic region of Westmorland. A popular tourist centre and base for exploring the nearby fells and the lake itself, Ambleside is a small town though with plenty of public houses for and evening out and a meal.
